Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam

Amsterdam’s former music conservatorium building is home to the city’s most unique and fashionable hotel, where the Dutch Golden Age meets contemporary Italian design.

The iconic building of conservatorium, built in the 19th century by Dutch architect Daniel Knuttel, went through a sophisticated transformation. To realize his vision of the hotel, owner Georgi Akirov enlisted help the award-winning Milan-based furniture and interior designer Piero Lissoni.

Old meets new

The magnificent redesign pays homage to the grandeur of the building’s heritage and revamps its interiors with striking modern décor, consistently imbued with Lissoni’s signature style.

Known for his austere lines, demure fabrics and shades of grey mixed with bright accents, Lissoni has created a succession of luminous spaces based around a glass-covered atrium. Original lofty ceilings provided inspiration for configuring almost half of the rooms into a stunning duplex layout with oversized windows and exposed structural beams.

Eat and de-stress

Several communal dining outlets—such as the Conservatorium Brasserie & Lounge and Tunes Restaurant & Bar—offer guests the opportunity to enjoy magnificent cuisine and discover new local flavors. Another eye-catcher is the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre, a 1000m² gym, spa, yoga, and meditation space.

Very important for the hotel is the high service: a host is assigned to each guest to take care of bookings and arrangements, but also to give guests a personal insight into the beautiful Amsterdam.
