The Florentine architect Michele Bönan is behind the interior design at Continentale. His creation was a major contributor to turning the hotel into the city’s newest cool-and-trendy place.
Decorated with elegant mid-century furniture by Nanna Jorgen Ditzel, Bönan, and Arne Jacobsen, the interiors breathe freshness and harmony. Works of art, white-painted walls, floors tiled with the light-grey pietra serena stone, and splashes of pink, green, and lemon set the tone for a sleek, stylish, and chic hotel.
Extraordinary black and white photographs taken by fashion designers such as Pucci and Fabiani in Florence in the 50s and 60s adorn the walls, helping to maintain a vintage feel inside the hotel.
The airy rooms and suites are based on pure lines and light, and white-on-white themes, with sheer-draped beds, light wood furniture, oak floors, and flowing curtains.
Deluxe and superior rooms offer great views over the Arno River, the rooftops of Florence, or the Vasari corridor (of these, some rooms have terraces). Beyond the well-equipped bedrooms, the hotel has a relaxation room, DVD lounge with home theatre as well as a fitness area with gym and sauna.
